1. Who we are
ECG Catch is developed and owned by Hjerteklapp AS, org. no. 938 636 435, Festningsveien 13B, 1368 Stabekk, Norway. Contact: support@hjerteklapp.com.
2. Licence and purchase
The app is downloaded from Apple’s App Store and used under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms apply in addition. The app is a one-time purchase. Purchase, payment and refunds are handled by Apple.
3. What the app is for
ECG Catch records, shows and shares ECG from a chest strap. The app does not interpret the ECG, makes no diagnosis and is not a medical device. It must not be used to monitor disease or make decisions about treatment. You decide yourself what the ECG is used for.
4. The app gives no alerts
The app does not tell you anything about your heart rhythm, not even if the ECG is abnormal. If you have symptoms from your heart, contact a doctor. With chest pain, shortness of breath or fainting, call your local emergency number (112 in Europe). Do not wait to record an ECG first.
5. Your responsibility
- Use the chest strap as the manufacturer recommends.
- Do not look at your phone when it may be dangerous, for example in traffic.
- Recordings are stored only on your iPhone. If you delete the app, the recordings are deleted too. Keep your own copies of what you want to keep.
6. Recordings and accuracy
The app shows the ECG as the strap sends it. The trace may still contain noise or gaps, for example with poor skin contact, movement, low battery or a lost Bluetooth connection. A recording may also not be made if the app is not connected to the strap when you press. We do not guarantee that a recording is made or that it is fit for a particular purpose.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Hjerteklapp AS is not liable for damage or loss resulting from use of the app or from decisions made on the basis of it. This includes indirect loss and loss of data. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app. Your mandatory rights as a consumer under applicable law always apply.
8. Other services
The app is used together with products and services from others, such as Polar and Apple Health. These have their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
9. Privacy
The app sends no health or measurement data to us. See the privacy policy.
10. Changes
We may change the app and these terms. Significant changes are announced in the app or on this page. The current version is always here.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Contact us first, and we will try to find a solution. As a consumer you may also complain to the consumer authority in your country.
